3 Steps to Art investing

At Beta Fine Art, we are committed to making art collecting and the art market accessible to all. Our services are designed to provide value to collectors at every experience level, whether you’re new to the art world or a seasoned connoisseur.

  • Step One

Suitability: We begin with an initial consultation via Zoom or telephone to understand your preferences and assess how the art market aligns with your goals. Based on this, we recommend one of our globally recognised artists to help you start your collection. Once you've made your selection, you can choose to store the artwork securely in our state-of-the-art warehouse or have it delivered directly to your home.

  • step two

    Patience:
Building an art collection is a gradual journey. The value of fine art often grows over time, influenced by factors like supply and demand. We encourage a long-term approach to collecting, typically spanning 5-15 years, to allow artworks to mature and become a meaningful part of your collection. At Beta Fine Art, we manage the details, ensuring you enjoy your art without unnecessary complexity.

  • step three

While we recommend that customers sell their goods independently, we understand that some may prefer to sell through Beta Fine Art. If you choose this option, we offer a direct buyback service at a fair market rate (RRP).

Beta Fine Art charges a 10% commission on the profits from any sale made through us.

  • Exclusive Art

We have exclusive access to limited-edition fine art prints as well as sought-after, one of a kind original artworks from emerging, established and blue-chip artists.

  • personal touch

Collecting and potentially profiting from fine art can be far more exciting than traditional investment areas. We believe in the value of personal connections and love meeting in person.

  • price tracking

At Beta Fine Art, we regularly track prices from gallery to gallery to keep you updated on how your art is performing.

  • GLOBAL

We strive to serve clients worldwide, making the art market as accessible as possible.

  • Expert Knowledge

Our inside knowledge of the art market along with our network of valuable connections puts us in the prime position to advise and guide you from start to finish.

  • Art Market Understanding

Our diverse knowledge and understanding of the art market ensure you’ll receive an accurate, professional evaluation and authentication of your artworks.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEE'S

Beta Fine Art charge 10% on your profits for any work acquired and sold through us

IS THERE A MINIMUM HOLD

The suggested holding period can vary depending on the specific work you acquire. However, we generally recommend keeping a piece in your portfolio for at least 5-15 years initially

DELIVER TO MY HOME OR STORAGE

You can have your art delivered to your home address; however, many clients opt to have their artwork sent to our warehouse in Ireland, allowing them to keep it free from VAT and in the best condition. Please be aware that import duties may apply when bringing the art back to the UK. We recommend consulting a tax advisor for further details

WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO SELL QUICKLY

Art is not a liquid asset like stocks or bonds; it takes time to find the right buyer

WHAT ARE THE RISKS

Art is not considered a liquid asset in the same way as stocks or shares. Like any investment, the value of art can fluctuate, and there is a possibility that you may find it challenging to sell your artwork.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM I CAN INVEST?

You can start with a minimum purchase of £2,000

DO I NEED TO PAY TAX

We highly recommend consulting with an independent tax advisor. If you sell (or 'dispose of') a personal asset, including art, for £6,000 or more, you may be liable to pay Capital Gains Tax on any profit (‘gain’) made.

ARE ART RETURNS GUARANTEED

No, returns on art are not guaranteed. The value of art can fluctuate based on various factors, and there is always a level of risk involved in any investment

ARE YOU A BROKER OR A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION?

We are not a broker or financial institution. We are a gallery that buys and sells art, as outlined clearly in our terms and conditions.

WHY INVEST WITH BETA FINE ART? Unlike buying stock market shares, every artwork you purchase from Beta Fine Art belongs to you, you alone own the work outright. This gives you the autonomy to keep the art for as long as you like and sell it whenever you want to.

"Art is difficult.
It's not entertainment. There are only a few people who can say something about art - it's very restricted. When I see a new artist I give myself a lot of time to reflect and decide whether it's art or not. Buying art is not understanding art."

— Anselm Kiefer
