ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In Trussed Trophies, one of British artist Miss Aniela’s works in her Surreal Fashion series, a woman is collecting animals and birds. In a tight blue negligée, she has an exotic bird on her shoulder and an after-the-hunt rabbit in her hand. On the table are a collection of dead birds. Inspiration for this photo was taken from a 17th-century rabbit still life painting by Dirch de Bray and a 19th-century painting of birds by Andreas Lack. Animals from both have been superimposed into the photograph.
